LAS VEGAS (AP) - Clark County officials are dedicating two pools to an international attempt at holding the world's largest swim lesson.
Desert Breeze pool on Spring Mountain Road and Hollywood pool on Hollywood Boulevard are open on a first-come, first-served basis Tuesday morning to about 150 record-breaker hopefuls.
The lesson is set for 8 a.m. and will coincide with other swim lessons across the globe. It may earn a place in the Guinness Book of World Records.
Clark County commissioners say the event will be a chance to make history, but also to raise awareness about drowning prevention.
Last year, seven children under the age of 14 drowned in Clark County.
