LAS VEGAS (AP) - A family whose move to Las Vegas was ruined when their moving van and nearly all their belongings were stolen says community help is making their house feel like home.
Oregon native Rebecca Lovelady was moving to Las Vegas last month with her boyfriend and two sons. She says they were staying at a Henderson Holiday Inn Express when their moving truck vanished from the parking lot.
When the truck was found the next day, it was almost empty.
After Lovelady took her plight to TV station KTNV, viewers responded by organizing a donation drive at a Methodist church Aug. 22, and filling her SUV twice with household supplies and toys.
Lovelady tells KTNV she's shocked by the generous response and calls Las Vegas "a pretty great community."
