LAS VEGAS (AP) - A 24-year-old man has pleaded guilty to robbery and conspiracy charges in a botched attempt to rob casino chips from the Bellagio resort on the Las Vegas Strip.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports (http://bit.ly/QdgCzk) Michael Belton of Nuevo, Calif., entered the pleas last week. He faces two to 21 years in prison at sentencing Sept. 26.

Police say Belton and another man wore wigs and sunglasses when they pepper-sprayed a blackjack dealer and tried to snatch $115,000 in poker chips on May 19.

Bystanders tackled Belton and he dropped the chips. The second man got away.

Belton told authorities he agreed to the robbery plan because he needed money and his grandparents were ill.
