LAS VEGAS (AP) - A 25-year-old California man is going to prison for two to 5 years for a botched grab-and-run casino chip heist last May at the Bellagio resort on the Las Vegas Strip.

Michael Quinn Belton of Nuevo, Calif., apologized for what he called bad judgment before a Nevada judge gave him a minimum sentence Wednesday in Clark County District Court.

Belton pleaded guilty in July to felony robbery and conspiracy charges.

Police say Belton and another man wore wigs and sunglasses and sprayed a noxious substance at a blackjack dealer and player before Belton snatched $115,000 worth of chips and tried to run.

Casino employees tackled Belton and retrieved the chips. The other man got away.

Belton told authorities he needed money and his grandparents were ill.
