LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities have identified a California man who was one of two people killed in a car that investigators think stalled or cut in front of a tractor-trailer on Interstate 15 just south of Las Vegas.
The Clark County coroner reported Tuesday that 26-year-old Gustavo Macias of Moreno Valley, Calif., died of multiple injuries in the 8:30 p.m. Monday crash on the southbound freeway near St. Rose Parkway in Henderson.
A woman killed with Macias in the four-door Nissan sedan wasn't immediately identified.
Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Jeremie Elliott says the trucker received minor injuries when the truck cab ended up on its side. He wasn't identified.
Elliott says the crash happened on a slight uphill, and it didn't appear that the truck was speeding.
