HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) - Police in Henderson say they've arrested a Boulder City man who tried to abduct a 6-year-old girl at a suburban park during the weekend.
Police Chief Patrick Moers says a tip from a witness led to the Tuesday afternoon arrest of 30-year-old James H. Allen.
Allen is being held at the Henderson city jail pending an initial court appearance on felony attempted kidnapping, child abuse and burglary charges. He could face decades in prison if convicted.
Allen is accused of putting a hand over the girl's mouth and grabbing her outside a restroom at Mountain View Park a little before noon Sunday.
The girl's screams alerted others, and police say her would-be abductor fled in a faded red Volkswagen.
Police say the girl wasn't hurt.
