LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities say a 23-year-old motorcyclist
killed in a Las Vegas area freeway crash was a U.S. Air Force
service member stationed at Nellis Air Force Base who lived in
North Las Vegas.
The Nevada Highway Patrol says Derek Weston Moore crashed his
2003 Suzuki motorcycle a little after 3 a.m. Monday on the northern
215 Beltway west of Pecos Road.
Trooper Jeremie Elliott says Moore was pronounced dead at the
scene. The cause of the crash wasn't immediately determined.
Nellis officials say Moore was a senior airman who worked as an
electro environmental systems journeyman. He was assigned to the
757th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron.
A memorial service is set for 3 p.m. Friday at the chapel on the
Las Vegas-area air base.
