LAS VEGAS (AP) - The National Council of La Raza says Vice
President Joe Biden is scheduled to deliver a keynote speech at the
organization's 2012 annual conference next week in Las Vegas.
La Raza official Julian Texiera (tesh-AIR-uh) said Tuesday that
Biden is due to speak at a June 10 luncheon at the Mandalay Bay
Convention Center on the Las Vegas Strip.
The conference begins Saturday and includes a National Latino
Workshops, town halls and general sessions aim to explore issues
facing Hispanics in education, health, workforce development, youth
leadership and other topics.
It will be the group's first meeting in Nevada. The state is seen as election battleground in the race for the White House in November.
