LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities have identified a 57-year-old bicyclist who died after police say he rode into the path of a Nissan Versa in Las Vegas.
Clark County coroner's officials say Edward Shelby was killed in the crash about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday on Valley View Boulevard near Capella Avenue.
Police say the Shelby was riding his bike on the sidewalk in the same direction as the car when he suddenly drove into the road and was hit by the Nissan.
Shelby was thrown from his bike and pronounced dead at University Medical Center.
The incident marks the 62nd traffic-related death so far this year in Las Vegas police jurisdiction.
