LAS VEGAS (AP) - A 6-year-old bicyclist has been critically injured after colliding with a pickup truck in northwest Las Vegas.
Witnesses tell police a Dodge Ram was driving through the parking lot of the Portofino Villas Apartments about 6 p.m. Sunday when the boy emerged from between parked cars.
Authorities say the boy hit the right front tire of the truck and was thrown from his bicycle, then fell under the rear tire of the truck.
He was taken to University Medical Center with critical injuries. An update on his condition wasn't immediately available Monday morning.
Police say the 18-year-old truck driver wasn't under the influence, and they say speed wasn't a factor in the crash.
