LAS VEGAS (AP) - A judge in Las Vegas set bail at $460,000 for a 28-year-old accused pimp facing felony charges that he threatened, beat and tortured a woman who tried to quit working as his prostitute.
Arman Izadi's attorney, Ben Nadig, says Izadi intends to fight the 20 felony charges filed against him on Monday.
Justice of the Peace Cynthia Cruz scheduled a May 20 preliminary hearing.
Izadi first faces sentencing May 15 after pleading guilty last October to attempted battery with substantial bodily harm in another case.
Izadi was arrested Wednesday in the new case.
He's accused of cutting the woman on the leg, beating her in a shower and at one point putting a wet towel over her face and suffocating her in an experience she described as being "water boarded."
