LAS VEGAS (AP) - Defense attorneys are withdrawing from the case of a 24-year-old man accused of driving under the influence when he crashed a speeding car full of friends into a crowded bus stop, killing four people and injuring eight.
Attorney Kristina Wildeveld said Wednesday that Gary Lee Hosey Jr.'s family is out of money to pay for Hosey's defense.
Hosey's parents declined comment outside court.
Clark County District Court Judge Jennifer Togliatti will decide Nov. 21 if public defenders can represent Hosey.
It's also possible that Wildeveld will remain on the case at county expense.
Meanwhile, Hosey's state court arraignment on felony DUI charges was postponed.
Prosecutors allege his blood-alcohol level was above the legal limit, at 0.087 percent, and he was high on marijuana after the Sept. 13 crash.
