LAS VEGAS (AP) - The American Civil Liberties Union of Nevada
has filed discrimination complaints with the state's Equal Rights
Commission claiming Clark County School District didn't do enough
to protect two sixth graders from bullying this year.

The complaints filed Wednesday allege that several bullies at
Greenspun Junior High School in Henderson called the two boys
derogatory names and beat one of the boys up based on their
perceived sexual orientation.

ACLU's filing claims school officials didn't take action to
create a meaningful safety plan for the boys.

The complaint also says one of the boys' mothers was barred from
working as a volunteer at the junior high after filing a formal
complaint with the school district in February.

District officials and school administrators didn't immediately
respond to requests for comment Wednesday.
