SWAT teams were combing a tiny town looking for two convicted killers who scaled a 16-foot fence topped with rolled razor wire on Sunday.
Authorities used dogs and helicopters in the search for 49-year-old Danny Martin Gallegos and 27-year-old Juan Carlos Diaz-Arevelo.
They escaped from the Daggett County jail, about 120 miles east of Salt Lake City, near the Wyoming border.
Manila, population 303, is surrounded by national forest, government rangeland and Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area in a remote corner of Utah.
The men turned up missing in a head count Sunday six hours after they were last seen at the jail wearing gray sweats.
