Baby Among 6 Hurt In Las Vegas Apartment Complex Blaze

Six people are hospitalized, including an 8-month-old baby, after an two-alarm blaze at an apartment complex east of the Las Vegas Strip.

Clark County fire spokesman Scott Allison says a neighbor was credited with rescuing the child who's now at University Medical Center in Las Vegas with third-degree burns.

Most of the other five people were being treated for smoke inhalation and minor burns.

No word yet on the cause of the fire, which was reported at 1:05p.m.

Allison says one police officer went door-to-door alerting people to get out before flames swept through several apartments in a building with 16 units at the Sonoma Shadows complex on East Karen Avenue.
