Sweep By Feds, Police Nets More Than 200 Fugitives In Vegas Area

Officials went public yesterday with results of a five-day sting -- and announced that a multi-agency task force is still seeking about 1,100 fugitives.

They say that among those arrested were 17 sex offenders, 27 documented gang members, and three people wanted on homicide
warrants.

Another 55 were sought on drug-related warrants -- and officials say they also confiscated 11 firearms and about $7,000 in cash.

The operation was the fourth in a series of Operation Falcon sweeps dating back several years.

It was coordinated by U.S. marshals, but also involved several other federal agencies and local police.
