One of the first residents of the Dina Titus Estates was critically injured yesterday (Saturday) when her wheelchair was struck by a car.
Witnesses told police Edna Sison was crossing against a red light at the intersection of Tropicana and Andover Drive shortly after noon.
One of the witnesses was a police officer who was waiting to make a left turn.
He yelled for Sison to stop, but she entered the path of a Dodge Neon.
Sison was one of the first residents of the subsidized housing residents for poor, physically disabled adults.
The residences were named after Democratic state Senator Dina Titus.
