LAS VEGAS (AP) - A 24-year-old Marine veteran who lives in Las Vegas will deliver this weekend's Democratic national radio address.
Elliot Anderson focuses in the Memorial Day weekend message on patriotism, America's veterans and Democratic efforts to ensure soldiers have access to affordable health care.
Anderson chairs the Nevada Democratic party's Veterans and Military Families Caucus.
Nevada Senator Harry Reid -- the Democratic majority leader in the Senate -- asked him to tape the message which will air on Saturday.
In it, Anderson describes a war funding bill that Congress passed Thursday as a step toward changing course in Iraq.
Anderson spent four years on active duty and was deployed for seven months in Afghanistan.
He left active duty as a corporal, and was promoted to sergeant in the reserves.
