HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) - Police say a 75-year-old Henderson man was killed crossing busy Boulder Highway, where police were later involved in a shooting that left a gunman dead.
Police say they don't believe the two incidents are related.
According to reports, the pedestrian wasn't in a crosswalk when he was struck a little after 4:30 a.m. Tuesday between College Avenue and Horizon Drive by a 2002 Acura sedan driven by a 79-year-old Henderson woman.
The man's name wasn't immediately made public.
Police say speed didn't appear to be a factor and the driver didn't appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Hours later, while the road remained closed for the crash investigation, Henderson police shot and killed a man who they say opened fire with a handgun.
