PAHRUMP, Nev. (AP) - Nye County officials are considering whether to revoke the licenses of a brothel owner who pleaded guilty and was sentenced for trying to bribe a county commissioner.
A deputy Nye County district attorney said Maynard Martin "Joe" Richards could be summoned to a show-cause hearing within 30 days.
The 75-year-old Richards owns three legal brothels, a massage salon and a strip club in Pahrump, about 60 miles west of Las Vegas.
He pleaded guilty in March in U.S. District Court in Las Vegas to one count of fraud.
A federal judge sentenced him July 29 to a year in a halfway house, five years probation and a $250,000 fine.
Richards' lawyers filed notice Monday in that he'll appeal his conviction and sentence.
