PAHRUMP, Nev. (AP) - Sheriff's officials say an 18-year-old Nye County woman has been charged with murder in the death of her 2-month-old daughter.
Bianca Razo-Pina and 24-year-old Efren Chavez were arrested Tuesday on child neglect charges. Both were being held at the Nye County Detention Center on Thursday. Razo-Pina was being held without bail on the murder charge.
The Nye County sheriff's office says Razo-Pina and Chavez took their daughter to a Pahrump hospital in full cardiac arrest on Monday. The girl was flown to a Las Vegas hospital, where she died on Wednesday.
The sheriff's office says an investigation found the baby had suffered extensive brain injuries and had bruises all over her body.
Pahrump is about 60 miles west of Las Vegas. A call from The Associated Press to the Nye County sheriff's office wasn't immediately returned Friday.
