North Las Vegas Police Officer Arrested on Credit Card Fraud Charges

NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) - The North Las Vegas Police Department says an officer has been arrested on suspicion of credit card fraud charges.

The department says Benjamin Miles Cordova was arrested and booked into the North Las Vegas Detention Center on Tuesday on suspicion of three counts of fraudulent use of a credit card and three counts of receiving property obtained by unlawful use of a credit card.

Cordova has more than six years of service with the department.

An internal complaint about the disappearance of a department-owned credit card prompted an investigation that resulted in the arrest of the 39-year-old.

Cordova has been placed on paid administrative leave during the investigation.

No phone number for Cordova could be found and the department did not know whether he has an attorney yet.
