LAS VEGAS (AP) - The FBI has arrested a man who is charged with failing to appear at a June hearing in a federal money laundering case in Las Vegas.
Agents arrested Shawn Rice, who is associated with an anti-government, anti-tax movement, in Paulden, Ariz., on Saturday. He'll be held in Flagstaff, Ariz., until U.S. marshals send him to Las Vegas.
Rice, a purported leader of the sovereign citizens movement, was charged in the case after a three year undercover FBI investigation.
Rice pleaded not guilty in March to conspiracy and money laundering charges.
Those associated with the sovereign citizens movement reject the authority of the government and say they are not obligated to pay taxes.
