LAS VEGAS (AP) - The State Bar of Nevada says it's donating more than $120,000 to nine Nevada nonprofit organizations to boost legal service and education around the state.
The grants are administered by the bar's nonprofit Lawyer Referral and Information Service. It provides lawyer referrals, outreach and services to the public.
Bar President Kathleen England says the grants show the bar's commitment to legal aid and consumer-oriented legal education.
Funds will go to the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada, the Senior Citizen's Law Project, Project REAL, Special Advocates for Elders, the Washoe County Law Library, Washoe Legal Services, Volunteer Attorneys for Rural Nevadans and the Washoe County and Clark County bar associations.
Presentations will be made at a Clark County Bar luncheon next Thursday.
