LAS VEGAS (AP) - Police say a 55-year-old woman was critically hurt when she was struck from behind by a car that ran onto a sidewalk on a busy boulevard in northwest Las Vegas.
Authorities say the woman was hit by a 2004 Volkswagen Beetle that climbed a curb Tuesday morning on Rainbow Boulevard near a shopping center south of Cheyenne Avenue.
Police say the woman was taken to University Medical Center in Las Vegas.
The driver of the car and a 7-year-old boy passenger weren't hurt.
Police say the driver wasn't immediately cited, but the crash remained under investigation.
