LAS VEGAS (AP) - It took a jury only about two hours to find 18-year-old Thayer Burton guilty of first-degree murder in the slaying of Ashley Furniture store manager Robert Bills in a botched robbery attempt in 2007. Burton won't face the death penalty, but could be sentenced to life in prison. Authorities say the 53-year-old Bills was on his way to make a bank deposit and had about $22,000 in cash and checks when he was shot and killed.
