Allegiant Jet Makes Emergency Landing in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (AP) - An Allegiant Air jet carrying 135 passengers
and crew made an emergency landing in Las Vegas after the crew
reported smoke in the cockpit.

Officials said Flight 394 from Los Angeles to Grand Junction, Colo., was diverted and touched down at McCarran International Airport without incident. The MD-83 aircraft taxied to a gate and no injuries were reported.

Airline spokeswoman Tyri Squyres said the 130 passengers would continue to Grand Junction on a different plane, arriving after 6
p.m.
