North Las Vegas Police Agree to Defer Pay Increase

NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) - North Las Vegas officials say they'll save $4.4 million in the upcoming fiscal year after the city's 475 city police and corrections officers agreed to defer a 4 percent annual cost-of-living increase. The City Council is due to consider the concessions approved by the North Las Vegas Police Officers Association. The deal calls for the city to add two years to the union contract, which currently expires in 2012.
