LAS VEGAS (AP) - The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority has awarded a new contract to the consulting firm that developed the "What happens here, stays here" ad campaign.
The tourism agency's board unanimously approved the three-year deal with R&R Partners on Tuesday. That extends their 29-year relationship.
The authority did not have an open bidding process for the contract.
Agency chief Rossi Ralenkotter says officials don't have time to do on-the-job training with another agency.
The contract covers creating television ads and buying broadcast rights, as well as strategic planning, sponsorships and promoting special events.
Authority spokesman Vince Alberta says the agency determines how
much to pay the ad firm with each budget cycle.
