Las Vegas Man Sentenced For Killing Wife

LAS VEGAS (AP) - A judge in Las Vegas has sentenced a 62-year-old man to three to 10 years in state prison in the death of his wife, who was found drowned in a bathtub in 2006.

Clark County District Court Judge Jennifer Togliatti said Monday she couldn't really tell if Michael Jones killed 39-year-old Kumwan Jones.

But prosecutors cited bruises on the woman's body and inconsistencies in Jones' claim that he performed CPR.

Michael Jones earlier entered an Alford plea to voluntary manslaughter. He didn't admit guilt, but conceded there was enough evidence to convict him.

He maintains his wife slipped in the tub and drowned. Authorities alleged he killed her, in part to collect some $500,000
in insurance money.
