LAS VEGAS (AP) - A Las Vegas television news station has won a George Foster Peabody Award for its investigative series on water, growth and politics in southern Nevada.
KLAS-TV, Channel 8, was among several news and entertainment programs that received the award for excellence on Wednesday.
The local CBS affiliate's special "Crossfire: Water, Power and Politics" was reported by George Knapp and shot by photojournalist Matt Adams. Photojournalist Alex Brauer and producer Ian Russell also contributed to the piece, which aired March 22 and April 20 of last year
eabody judges called the reporting "a brave, meticulous examination" of plans to pump water from rural Nevada to Las Vegas.
Knapp and Adams will join other Peabody winners at a May 18 awards ceremony.
