NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev. (AP) - Nellis Air Force Base says more than 130 members of an Air Force security unit are arriving home from an eight-month combat deployment to Iraq.
Officials were expecting more than 150 friends and family members at Nellis about noon Wednesday to welcome the returning members of the 99th Air Base Wing Security Forces Group.
Lt. Col. Timothy Farrell says the unit members provided convoy and installation security and patrol duty missions in Iraq.
Nellis is about 12 miles northeast of downtown Las Vegas.
It's a top Air Force combat training site, and is home to the Air Force Thunderbirds aerial demonstration team.
