LAS VEGAS (AP) - A Las Vegas jury has spared the life of a man found guilty of first-degree murder in the gruesome "diary slaying" torture case in 2006. Jurors decided 32-year-old Corey Pearce should spend the rest of his life in prison in the slaying of 42-year-old Michael McClain. Pearce was found guilty of killing McClain by hammering a screwdriver into his skull after beating him in a Las Vegas condominium.
