Suspected Kidnappers Indicted

LAS VEGAS (AP) - A federal grand jury in Las Vegas has indicted two men accused of abducting a 6-year-old boy in a drug-related kidnapping.

Luis Vega-Rubio and Jose Lopez-Buelna were each charged Tuesday with one count of conspiracy to kidnap a child in the October abduction of Cole Puffinburger.

The indictment accuses Lopez-Buelna of hiring Puffinburger's grandfather, Clemens Tinnemeyer, to smuggle cocaine across the Mexico-U.S. border in a motorhome.

Prosecutors say both men took the boy his home after Tinnemeyer disappeared with $4 million. Puffinburger was returned unharmed.

An attorney for Lopez-Buelna did not respond to a call seeking comment. It was not clear if Vega-Rubio had an attorney.

The men were charged by criminal complaint last month.
