LAS VEGAS (AP) - Las Vegas fire officials are investigating the
cause of an early morning blaze that damaged the exterior and roof
of a downtown building anchored by city offices.
Las Vegas fire spokesman Tim Szymanski (zim-ANN'-skee) says no one was hurt but damage is estimated at $75,000 after the fire a little after 3:30 a.m. at the city Development Services Center on Fourth Street and Gass Avenue.
Officials say a passer-by saw flames and smoke and summoned firefighters.
Szymanski says most damage was to the outside of the building, but smoke also activated alarms in the building.
