North Las Vegas Officer Hit By Teen In Car

LAS VEGAS (AP) - A 16-year-old boy hit a North Las Vegas police
officer with a car while fleeing a house party as the officer was
approaching the house on foot.

North Las Vegas police said the vehicle struck the 26-year-old officer early Sunday, who then fired his gun without hitting anyone.

Police say the teen has been booked on suspicion of battery with a deadly weapon on the police officer.

Police were responding to a call about a large party at the house with 40 to 50 people. Authorities say the caller reported a large fight, possibly involving someone with a gun.

Authorities say the officer had minor injuries in the incident.
