LAS VEGAS (AP) - Police say no one was wounded, but authorities are scouring a northeast Las Vegas neighborhood for a man who scuffled with an officer before shots were fired.
Officer Bill Cassell says the unidentified officer is being questioned by investigators while police search the neighborhood near Las Vegas Boulevard and Cheyenne Avenue for the man he scuffled with shortly before 1 p.m.
Cassell is a department spokesman. He says the scuffle happened after the officer stopped the man on foot and began questioning him.
Details about the altercation are sketchy.
Cassell says the man is believed to be in his 20s, 5-foot-9 with a medium build. He was wearing a red baseball cap, red shorts, and a black shirt over a white shirt.
