LAS VEGAS (AP) - A Clark County fire spokesman says six acres
caught fire in Wetlands Park east of Las Vegas, but no people or
structures were threatened.
Fire spokesman Scott Allison says the cause of the Sunday afternoon fire has not been determined, but is not weather related. Authorities were called to the scene about 12:40 p.m.
Allison says the fire was naturally contained within a walking path that goes around the area. Allison says the light vegetation around the leaves little to burn. He says authorities are monitoring the fire and allowing some of it to simply burn out.
Allison says the Bureau of Land Management is also on scene.
