LAS VEGAS (AP) - A Las Vegas police officer is scheduled for surgery after he and two others were shot while serving a search
warrant for drugs in Henderson.
The officers suffered injuries that were not life threatening in the Sunday night shooting. Two were treated at University Medical Center and released, while the third is scheduled for hand surgery.
Police say the gunman, who has been arrested, fired at the officers from behind a closed door.
The gunman's girlfriend of 10 years who lives at the home says he fired at the officers because he believed someone was breaking into their house.
She says officers did not warn them that they were coming inside.
