LAS VEGAS (AP) - The University of Nevada, Las Vegas says it plans to extend a $500 million, seven year fundraising campaign an extra year.
Chancellor Jim Rogers says he is not surprised and told other university officials three or four months ago that UNLV would not
make its goal.
Rogers says donors are out of money because of difficult economic times, and nobody knows how long it will last.
Don Snyder, co-chairman of the campaign, says nobody considering
major gifts has backed off, but have requested more time.
Rogers says there's a chance UNLV will miss its goal depending on whether the economy recovers.
