LAS VEGAS (AP) - A Las Vegas lawyer has filed suit in Clark
County District Court to stop the city and the Nevada Department of
Transportation from permanently closing a street to make room for a
freeway widening project.
Attorney Matthew Callister says closing F Street will separate western Las Vegas from other neighborhoods, and block emergency services from getting there.
Callister says the closure of the street leading to a historically black neighborhood amounts to "old-school segregation."
Callister says he expects a judge to review the lawsuit in a couple of weeks.
