Copperfield Assistant Breaks Arm During Vegas Show

LAS VEGAS (AP) - An assistant for magician David Copperfield wasn't sawed in half, but other blades caused him injury during a performance at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

US Magazine reports that an illusion technician is recouperating after getting his arm caught in the rotating blades of a 12-foot industrial fan on stage Wednesday. The arm broke in several places, requiring surgery, and a cut on his face required stitches.

David Copperfield told the celebrity magazine that he was at the hospital when the assistant awoke, and he gave him a children's magic set to practice on during his recovery.
