Judge: Man Jailed in Boy's Abduction to be Freed

NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) - A judge has ordered a man freed
after he was jailed more than a week without charges in the investigation of the abduction and safe return of a 6-year-old Las
Vegas boy.

But the lawyer representing 48-year-old Jose Lopez-Buelna said Wednesday he expects federal authorities will take custody of his
client. Police say he is an illegal immigrant who was deported to Mexico in 2003.

Police and prosecutors aren't saying how Lopez-Buelna's release
affects the investigation of Cole Puffinburger's abduction.

The boy was found unharmed late Oct. 11 on a Las Vegas street, four days after he was snatched from his mother's home by two armed men posing as police officers.

No suspects have been named in the case.
