Bail $500,000 for Woman in Nevada Pet Store Heist

HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) - Bail was set at $500,000 for a 28-year-old woman accused of robbing a Henderson pet store at gunpoint, fleeing from police and taking a woman hostage at a gas station.

Mandy Hagen was being held at the Henderson city jail pending a July 22 hearing in Henderson Justice Court on charges of robbery and assault with a deadly weapon, burglary, kidnapping, resisting a police officer and abuse and neglect of a child.

Police say Hagen robbed a PetSmart not far from the Galleria at Sunset mall about 7:30 a.m. Sunday and drove away in a white compact car that police began chasing several miles away.

The chase ended at a gas station where police say Hagen grabbed a 70-year-old woman who was pumping gas and took her hostage while
holding off police with the handgun.

An officer tackled Hagen, and police say no one was hurt in the arrest.
