Driver Jailed After Fatal Bus Stop Crash in Vegas

LAS VEGAS (AP) - A Las Vegas man has been jailed on multiple felony driving under the influence charges after his pickup truck plowed through a Las Vegas bus stop, killing one woman and critically injuring another.

Police say 44-year-old Steven Murray was arrested after he was treated for moderate injuries sustained in the 5:36 a.m. Monday crash in southeast Las Vegas.

The name of the 51-year-old woman killed in the wreck hasn't been made public. Another woman, identified as 26-year-old Porshe Hughes, is hospitalized.

Police say both were at the bus shelter when Murray's 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 ran up on the curb, hit the shelter and came to rest on its side.

Police say they think Murray was under the influence of prescription drugs. Blood tests were taken.

Murray's due for an initial appearance in Las Vegas Justice Court later this week.
