HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) - Two men accused of abducting a 17-year-old Henderson girl and holding her for ransom for about 20 hours last week will remain jailed on an immigration hold even if they make more than $1 million bail.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports (http://bit.ly/ShDMIQ ) that a 30-year-old Cesar Sanchez and 25-year-old Alejandro Manuel Sanchez-Sanchez made initial appearances Tuesday in Henderson Justice Court on conspiracy, kidnapping a minor and extortion charges.
Justice of the Peace Stephen George scheduled another hearing Sept. 11.
The immigration hold would keep the men jailed for deportation proceedings if they post bond on the criminal charges.
The men are charged with snatching Melissa Duran from her Henderson home about 7:30 a.m. Friday.
Henderson police rescued Duran unharmed about 4:30 a.m. Saturday at her captors' apartment in Las Vegas.
