Vegas Police Say 18-Year-Old Dead After Drive-By Shooting

LAS VEGAS (AP) - Las Vegas police say a teen is dead and another
is in the hospital after an apparent shooting at a park.

Police say the shooting happened around 3 a.m. Sunday when the 18-year-old and 19-year-old male teens were in the park north of the Las Vegas Strip with acquaintances. Authorities say someone drove by the group in a customized car and fired several rounds, hitting the 18-year-old in the head and the 19-year-old in the torso.

The 19-year-old was taken to a local hospital and the 18-year-old was pronounced dead.

Police say they're unsure of the motive for the shooting but think it could be related to various fights and arguments at nearby parties.

Police say they will not release the 18-year-old's name until his family is notified.
