Ameristar Casinos Inc. announced Monday that company chief executive John M. Boushy has resigned to pursue other interests, and Gordon R. Kanofsky, company co-chairman and executive vice president, has been named to take his place.
Kanofsky, 53, will also hold the post of vice chairman of the company, which is based in Las Vegas and operates regional casinos primarily in the Midwest. Boushy had served as president and sat on the company's board.
Ray H. Neilsen, company co-chairman and senior vice president will serve as chairman, Ameristar said.
Neilsen, 44, will be responsible for overseeing Ameristar's operations, marketing, entertainment and design and construction.
Ameristar also appointed board member Larry A. Hodges, 59, as president and chief operating officer. He will handle the company's gambling, hotel, food and beverage, marketing, design, construction and information technology operations.
Peter C. Walsh, 51, Ameristar senior vice president and general counsel, will take on the additional role of chief administrative officer, responsible for human resources, administration and communications.
