BOULDER CITY, Nev. (AP) - Proponents of a recall effort against two council members in Boulder City say they have gathered enough
signatures to force a special election.
Christine Milburn, a leader of the effort to recall Boulder City Council members Travis Chandler and Linda Strickland, says more than enough people have signed petitions, but she would not give a specific figure.
The petitioners have a Tuesday deadline to collect 1,085 valid signatures against Strickland and 1,268 signatures against Chandler.
A new interpretation of Nevada election law endorsed by Attorney
General Catherine Cortez Mastro made it tougher to recall elected
officials by saying voters could only sign a recall petition only if they voted in the election that put the targeted official into office.
