LAS VEGAS (AP) - A worker has been crushed and killed by a crane
at the construction site of the MGM Mirage's CityCenter casino resort on the Las Vegas Strip.
Clark County fire spokesman Scott Allison says the man was ronounced dead on the scene at about 7 a.m. Saturday.
It was at least the sixth construction death at the CityCenter site.
Allison says the worker was oiling the crane when he apparently
became caught between the counter weight system and the track of
Allison says the crane did not fall. No one else was injured.
State safety officials are investigating.
The massive CityCenter complex includes six high-rise towers. It's estimated to cost up to $8.4 billion and open in the fall of 2009.
